Open University 50th Anniversary Graduation
A social-first storytelling campaign capturing the emotion of graduation while reinforcing that it’s never too late to learn.
BRIEF
The Open University partnered with Inspiring Belfast to capture the emotion and inclusivity of its graduation ceremony. The objective was to create social-first video content celebrating student achievement while reinforcing lifelong learning, driving awareness, engagement and positive brand perception.
ACTIVATION
Three videos were produced during the live event: one highlighting an 90-year-old graduate, one featuring an alumnus returning decades later, and one capturing graduates walking the red carpet. Each asset blended authentic live moments with platform-optimised storytelling to maximise emotional impact and shareability.
IMPACT
The campaign generated 769,000 views, 52,000 likes and 2,500 saves. Strong engagement and positive commentary reflected renewed motivation to pursue education, reinforcing The Open University’s reputation as inclusive, inspiring and transformative.
